Rich gilded bronze ornamentation.

Napoleon III period , a high-quality French work circa 1860 - 1870.
Mathieu Béfort, known as Béfort Jeune (1813 - 1880), is a descendant of a famous family of Parisian cabinetmakers.
From 1840 to 1880 , the workshop prospered on rue Neuve Saint-Gilles, hence the high-quality furniture made by this cabinetmaker-marquetry specialist who was inspired by Boulle furniture and Louis XVI period creations.
