"Son of Léon POINTU, he took over his father's pottery and developed a range of utility tableware from 1947 to 1948. After the failure of this business, in 1951, he then established himself with his wife Denise POINTUD-DETRAZ (a former student of the École des Beaux-arts de Bourges) in an old pottery in Bouillons in Arquian which then took the name "Art-Ceram Grand feu"; adventure that would last until the beginning of 1963. Denise developed the design of the shapes of common stoneware and also made rare personal pieces: vases, cups, but above all sculptures in modeled stoneware such as Christs and virgins. » Source: Poterie et potiers de Puisaye et du val de Loire by Marcel Poulet.
