Joseph of Arimathea grabs a shroud to wrap the body of Christ, while the weeping Virgin is depicted towards the head of her son. Saint John delicately takes Christ's hand while Mary Magdalene, at the foot of the Savior, hides her face.
Two angels, an original feature of this work, frame the scene, one of which carries the Holy Cross.
