The painting depicts a rural landscape with wayfarers unidentified as was usual for imaginary rural paintings.
It presents phases of perspective in decreases and is closed in the background by a pale blue sky that is starting to be covered by a large mass of gray clouds. At the bottom right of the painting are wayfarers on horseback who are resting and talking to each other and you can see that one of them indicates the path to take. Finally, the painting is inserted in a black ebonized guilloche frame with light wood applications in walnut root not contemporary from the first half of the 20th century.
