"Double-sided Empire Era Inkwell"
Double-sided Empire period inkwell, in ebony, chased bronze and matt and shiny gilded. Resting on a rosette, the fluted and flowered barrel forming a candlestick is topped with a flame. It is flanked by two inkwells (with their original lead cup.) decorated with dolphins whose tails end in a horn making up the pen holder. The whole resting on an ebony base with a side drawer is decorated with palmettes, tritons and two gadrooned half-basins. It is supported by four small ball feet. Empire period work in perfect condition.
