Ilmenau, Thuringia, 18th century
Oval in shape, in white biscuit on a blue ground in the style of Wedgwood, representing him in left profile bust, bearing the plate and the cross of the Order of the White Falcon, in a beaded border. Good condition.
With a biscuit pendant bail (one restoration).
Attributed to the Ilmenau porcelain factory, Thuringia, Germany, second half of 18th century.
Incised marks 'B' and « no. 15 ».

History
Karl August (3 September 1757 – 14 June 1828), was the sovereign Duke of Saxe-Weimar and of Saxe-Eisenach (in personal union) from 1758, Duke of Saxe-Weimar-Eisenach from its creation (as a political union) in 1809, and grand duke from 1815 until his death.
