"Very Rare Medici Model Of A Late Medieval Chest. Italy - XIV C."
Model of a late medieval chest carved in walnut wood, with on the lid the central depictions of the De Medici coat of arms with six spheres (pivoted), of the five now missing. The shape of the late medieval coat of arms is protected by two opposing Winged Dragons. Both frontally and on the reverse, an eagle holds two waraxes with its claws. Leafy volutes and two opposing pigeons with rosettes and arrows enrich the panels. On the sides a reticulated decoration with mosaic squares. The walnut structure lacks its original lock.
