Manufacture Halley - Empire Coffee Cup Litron Shape In White And Gold Porcelain - Before 1811

Beautiful coffee cup in the shape of a litron and its saucer. Beautiful decoration with a double line gilded with fine gold. The cup bears the signature of the Halley factory in iron red. Empire period, before 1811. The following information is known about this factory from the book Porcelain in Paris under the Consulate and the Empire by Régine de Plinval de Guillebon: Charles Halley began his career as a faience maker, rue Montmartre in Paris. We find traces of him in the almanacs from 1793. In 1803 he is mentioned in a notarial deed as a faience maker and porcelain merchant. His factory decorated porcelain blanks from the Locré, Nast and Deuster factories. In 1811, Charles Halley united his daughter with his son Lebon, a merchant of crystal, faience and porcelain, uniting the two businesses to create the Halley Lebon brand in use from this period. Our cup therefore dates from before this period, under the Empire. Very good condition, beautiful gilding well preserved. Height: 6cm Diameter: 12cm
