Jerzy Edward Winiarz, 1894-1928, Polish painter of portraits, landscapes and nudes, creator of stained glass and frescoes. Graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, member of the Jednoróg Artists Guild. He perfected his skills in Florence. He exhibited his works in Paris, Krakow and Warsaw. He is the author of the frescoes and stained glass windows of the presidential chapel of Spala as well as the stained glass windows of the cathedral of Lodz. He worked in the South of France in Saint Tropez and painted portraits of cats. He drowned at the age of 34 in the Baltic Sea while trying to save another person.
