"White Porcelain "blanc De Chine" Statuette Of The Goddess Guan Yin China 19th"
Very pretty "Blanc de Chine" statuette in white porcelain representing the goddess Guan Yin seated. Quan Yin or Guan Yin is the beloved Buddhist goddess of compassion, whose name means "she who hears all prayers." She is dressed in a very pretty drape whose folds are very well made and give movement to the statuette. The goddess is represented seated in lalitasana (royal relaxation) with behind her a vase of pure water. A Ruyi scepter placed on her arm is probably missing.
