"An Important Bronze Buddha"
A large important bronze Buddha. Siam region, Ayutthaya school 16th-17th century The Buddha all in bronze, headless, with a beautiful patina, dressed in monastic robes. This bronze sculpture reveals a powerful image, emblematic of the remains of ancient Buddhist civilizations. Despite the absence of a head, the Buddha retains all his spirituality. A similar complete model, dated 1541, is in the National Museum in Bangkok.
