Gouache 31x46 cm "Boat in the port" 1936
Signed and dated lower right
Swiss painter, who settled in Paris from 1920 to 1939, Adian Holy exhibited in the Salons des Indépendants and Tuileries.
He established links with the Painters of Poetic Reality such as Planson and in the theater world, creating sets, notably for Louis Jouvet, and decorative panels for the Theaters of the Champs Elysées and Pigale.
This gouache with subtle tones is quite revealing of his rapprochement with the Painters of Poetic Reality, such as Brianchon, by its realistic but sensitive and transposed style.
