Provençal School signed lower right "L.Nattero" Louis Nattero (1870-1915) was a French painter born in Marseille, known for his marine scenes and his representations of working-class neighborhoods. Trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Marseille, he quickly developed a style marked by realism, highlighting the lives of fishermen and Mediterranean landscapes. Exhibited in regional salons and recognized locally, he was able to immortalize the maritime heritage of his hometown. His career was tragically interrupted by his death during the First World War.
