BAZIN, François (1897-1956). Plaque in tribute to Professor Eugène Marquis. Bronze. 72 x 54 mm. Triangle hallmark. Preserved in its case. On the obverse: bust portrait in profile of Eugène Marquis. On the reverse: allegory of Surgery in his laboratory with the coat of arms of the City of Rennes and Brittany, "To Professor Eugène Marquis, his colleagues, his confreres, his students, 1938". Eugène Marquis (1879-1963) was a French surgeon born in Bécherel. A cancer specialist, he was the initiator of the Anti-Cancer Center of the Pontchaillou Hospice in Rennes, a center that today bears his name. Ref. EB-1753
