André DURET (1921-2019), French painter who specialized in oil painting and stained glass creation. A student at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris, he entered working life as a designer but quickly became a painter noted for the arrangement of shapes and colors sometimes on the edge of abstraction or even in abstraction for a period. André Duret exhibited many times in France and abroad; several times alongside Jean Fautrier and Pierre Tal Coat. His works have been exhibited in famous galleries around the world and in renowned museums such as the Pompidou Center and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. At the same time, he created stained glass windows for many churches in France. This superb work, an oil on canvas from the 1970s, depicts a view of Honfleur. Dimensions: Format 20F. Height 73 cm.
