1909-2012 - Born in Awato, Chiba Prefecture. Spotted by Koun Takamura in 1931 (a sculptor who reintroduced the art of Buddhist woodcarving), he moved to Tokyo and joined the Japan Wood Carving Society, under the direction of Shin Naito. From 1933 onwards, he was regularly selected for the Bunten (Salon). He often exhibited in Indochina. After the war, he held several positions, honors, and regular exhibitions. In 1966, he contributed to the construction of a ten-story Buddha in his hometown. Works in various local museums. Retrospectives in 1989-1997-2002.
