Beautiful key, Birmingham manufacture, late 17th century or early 18th century.
This superb key with a tool-like granite finish, small dots on almost the entire possible surface, unfortunately has an accident and is missing on bit... Precious openwork work, with chiseling, crown ring, straight and full shank is a feat of engraving and turning, with fluted baluster on centre and ending as button, the elegant bit, incomplete is quite typical of these keys.
