Object description :

"Flemish School - Christ In Boxwood - 17th Century"
Flemish School Christ in Boxwood End of the 16th - Beginning of the 17th Century Very beautiful Christ in finely sculpted boxwood. Great softness of the face turned towards the sky and superb rendering of the hair. The perizonium tied on the left is remarkable for the finesse of the sculpture, as well as on the arms and legs. The unjoined feet and the presence of four wrought iron nails allow us to situate the work around the middle of the 17th century. The total height of Christ is 28cm, opening of the arms: 19 cm.
