"Suzani 19th Usbekistan "
Suzani: It is a type of embroidery and decorative tribal textile from Central Asia. Traditionally embroidered by brides-to-be as part of their dowry and presented to the groom on the wedding day, the Suzani is the main element, it is made of silk and cotton threads. It is the precious symbol of the young woman's first home and the family in her new home. This Suzani is probably from Samarkand, embroidered on 2 pieces of fabric then joined to form the decoration. (It is common to find up to 5 pieces of fabric assembled). It is a rare and old piece that is lined with an original neutral cotton fabric.
