"Giroux's Paperweight With Lying Dog"
This paperweight represents a dog lying on its back. It is made of silver-plated bronze with sulfide eyes. It is signed Alphonse GIROUX, whose sign was a famous tablet-making and cabinet-making shop at the Palais Royal in Paris. The cabinetmaking workshop began in 1799 and continued until the end of the nineteenth century.
His products were of excellent quality, intended for privileged customers.
