Saburosuke Okada (1869-1939) Japan, Foujita, Raphael Colin "Village Fountain" Watercolor Okada Saburōsuke is a Japanese painter of the 19th and 20th centuries, born in 1869 in Saga Prefecture and died in 1939 in Tokyo. Biography Okada Saburōsuke was a student of Soyama Sachihiko (1859-1892) and Kuroda Seiki. He traveled in Europe, mainly to Paris where he became a student of Raphaël Collin. Back in Japan, he was a professor at the Tokyo School of Fine Arts; a member of the Imperial Committee of Fine Arts and the Imperial Academy of Fine Arts in Tokyo1.
