The scene shows us a young man riding a white horse and leading a second, brown one. They move in a flat, barely sketched landscape, which highlights them perfectly.
Emile JOLLY is the painter of working horses at the end of the 19th century. The animals are represented in detail, with particular care in terms of the musculature and harnesses.
The work is signed lower left. It is in excellent condition, without stains. It has been carefully framed and placed under glass. The gilded frame is original.
