"Large Virgin And Child In Cartapesta On Tabernacle – 18th/19th Century "
Our gilded and polychromed Virgin in the round is made of boiled cardboard mixed with glue and flour using a technique dating from the Middle Ages. This is a work from the end of the 18th or the very beginning of the 19th century. Dimensions of the statue: 110 cm high by 57 cm wide and 34 deep. Used condition, significant losses and accidents at the hands.
Our moving representation rests on a tabernacle in carved and painted gilded wood whose door is in the motif of the triangle in Glory, symbol of the Holy Trinity. Two niches frame this opening. Losses - Has a lock but no keys and wear.
Dimensions: 65 cm high by 63 cm wide and 38 deep.
The whole is imposing and measures approximately 175 cm high
