AFRICAN ARTS-PRIMARY ARTS-TRIBAL ART SCULPTURE WROUGHT-WROUGHT IRON OIL LAMP-CANDLE HOLDER BAMBARA-BAMANA MALI 1ST HALF OF THE 20TH CENTURY Zoomorphic candle holder/oil lamp by the Bambara/Bamana ethnic group of Mali, in blackened wrought/wrought iron. It depicts an elephant, its trunk raised. Modernist and very fine work for this ethnic group, which is accustomed to this, particularly in ironwork. Signed BA under the belly. Very good condition (see descriptive photos). Weight: 614 grams.
