Ironwork: Imposing And Heavy Double-bit Key

Ironwork: imposing and heavy double-bitted key. We can guess that the ring is decorated on one side with a grotesque figure; the other side has suffered the effects of time, the decoration having almost completely disappeared. Full shank, double bit with three teeth. This key is surely the work of a skilled ironworker or blacksmith, but certainly not made to be used. Concerning the dating, although the patina seems to be old, I would cautiously lean more towards a work from the first half of the 20th century and not before. A beautiful collector's item for clavophiles or amateurs! Two other keys similar to this one for sale on my gallery.
