One of the images is dated 1896 in graphite.
This year, the printing technique, its format and its subject allow us to attribute these photographs to the public works engineer Jules Agostini.
The latter, an amateur photographer, had stayed in Tahiti from 1894 to 1898, taking the opportunity to make rare portraits of his friend Paul Gauguin.
Set of two prints on aristotype paper in 17 x 12 cm format, laminated on brown cardboard.
Good condition: one of the images has been peeled off at the edges.
