Originally, the petals were bordered in deep black enamel, of which only faint traces remain. This 19th-century jewel showcases a classic combination of yellow gold and black enamel, typical of the Napoleon III and Victorian eras.
The yellow diamond, a rare find for this period, is set in the piece. Its unique beauty, initially overlooked, eventually captivated collectors and jewelers. The diamond exhibits a deep golden yellow hue with amber undertones and has minor abrasions and inclusions (SI2 purity).
