Rare and in perfect condition! Kurdish horse saddle rug from the Lake Van region in the far east of Anatolia. Woven wool on wool in the traditional way. The piece is made in two sections which are joined and sewn together. This is the distinctive sign of nomadic peoples who had small looms, light and more easily transportable. The weaving is a true marvel, its finesse, precision and regularity together testify to the dexterity of the weaver.
