Lovely sugar basket from the George III period and with London hallmarks for the year 1789. It was made and openworked in the workshop of the famous and prolific London master goldsmith Robert I Hennell, a great virtuoso of the English neoclassical style. He is part of the second generation of a long dynasty of London goldsmiths that will last until 1887 and will include no less than four Robert Hennells. This pretty basket weighs 150 grams.
