"Vodaine (jean) - Untitled Composition Representing A Bird In Full Light. 1989."
VODAINE (Jean) - Untitled composition representing a bird in full light. Baslieux, Chez le peintre, 1989; 560/560 mm, wooden panel, painting of small dots separated by black lines. Signed Vodaine. On the back of the panel is written: "I asked my mother: your country, she answered me, is the most beautiful country in the world; but don't tell anyone so that they are not ashamed of theirs". Signed Jean Vodaine 21/01/1989. There is also a handwritten note BN Str. 13 March 1982. This panel was apparently exhibited in Strasbourg at the BN in 1982 and then Jean Vodaine may have added this text in 1989 when he sold it to a customer? Or did he write it down the day he finished this painting?
