Demarquet: Superb And Large Chalice In Solid Silver & Vermeil, Enameled Cross & Paten. 19th Century.

The chalice rests on a foot decorated with a pearl frieze.
A cross enameled in two shades of blue is applied to it.
The stem is punctuated by two circular knots.
The cup is in plain silver, its interior in vermeil.

The bottom of the chalice is "closed" by a metal plate.

A paten is attached, it is not by the same goldsmith but corresponds in size and style to the chalice.
It is engraved with a cross pattée, the interior is in vermeil.

The chalice is hallmarked:
. Minerva 1st title before 1973 for silver 950/°°
. Goldsmith's hallmark poorly struck but identifiable: Demarquet Frères, active at the end of the 19th century.

The paten is hallmarked:
