The miniature represents a man in bust, turned to his left, painted on paper. He is dressed in the English style, which was fashionable at the end of the 18th century. He wears a gray double-breasted rindegote over a waistcoat and a white shirt, a wide tie is wrapped around his neck. He also has a hairstyle in the fashion of the time, with short hair on the forehead and long on the ears, called "dog ears".
He wears a top hat with a cockade, which was mandatory for men from 1792 and in principle until 1796.
The miniature is signed and dated very lightly and hardly legibly, I think I read "Lagride / Lagarde (?) 1796" without certainty.
The miniature is highlighted by a yellow gold frame, punched after the owl, for 18k gold.
The reverse is covered with a green textile and a suspension ring, probably later.
Very beautiful miniature dating from the Revolutionary period highlighted by a gold hoop.
