Japanese Wakizashi sword, 17th century blade mounted in shirasaya. Tsuka braided in cream silk on an orange silk with gold threads. Menukis representing the mon of the Tokugawa clan. Tsuba in wrought iron, engraved and inlaid with gold and silver representing a pumpkin, signed. Fushi in gilded copper engraved with floral motifs on a nanako background. Plain kashira in black lacquered metal. Kozuka representing bundles of wood on a nanako background, the blade finely engraved with a dragon and signed. Saya in black and gold lacquered wood decorated in hiramaki-e with plant motifs, signed. Blade, mounted in shirasaya, straight, regular hamon, straight and well marked, the tang pierced twice and signed Bitchu Mizuta Ju Kunishige. Dimensions: 61 x 7 x 7 cm. Blade length: 58.5 cm.
