Jean-Marie Fievez (Charleroi 1949-2007).
Belgian sculptor, painter, jewelry designer and scenographer. Very early on, Jean-Marie Fiévez discovered a passion for the visual arts. (Trained at La Cambre in Brussels). After a remarkable debut at the Théâtre de l'Esprit Frappeur, he designed the costumes and sets for a "Valkyrie" staged by André Ernotte and which caused a scandal. In Belgium alone, Jean-Marie Fiévez will have participated in some 80 theater shows, including around thirty at the Rideau, but also at the National, the Galeries, the Poche, the Parc, and the Atelier Sainte-Anne. Called upon to work abroad, he designed scenographies in particular for Peter Zadek, the Frankfurt Opera, the Amsterdam Opera, the Schiller Theater in Berlin, the Lee Strasberg Studio in Los Angeles, etc. He was artistic director of the Ro Theater in Rotterdam from 1976 to 1978.
