Beautiful box in pressed wood of Saint Lucia dating from the beginning of the 19th century.
The lid is decorated with a scene representing Susanna and the elders.
Beautiful quality of conservation of this scene with many details of great finesse.
A cartouche at the bottom indicates: Susanna surprised in the bath.
The back has a very fine geometric decoration.
The interior is in good condition with a burl background and the tortoiseshell surround.
Some cracks and small gaps visible in the photos. Very beautiful patina.
