Elegant chest of drawers with a slightly domed double projection, it opens with five drawers on three rows, including three small ones on the upper row and two without crossbars in the lower part. It is inlaid with rosewood arranged in butterfly wings in Greek-style fillet frames. The front and rear uprights with projection are decorated with simulated fluting. It is topped with original peach blossom marble. The frame is in oak and the casings in oak and fir. Beautiful ornamentation of chiseled and gilded bronze also original. Stamped IGSCHLICHTIG on an upper side crossbar. It bears a crowned M mark and DE on the upper rear crossbar. Transition period. Safeguard restorations carried out, french polish. SCHLICHTIG Jean Georges ( -1782 ) received master on October 2, 1765 Aged about 40 years old when he received his master's letters, he settled on rue de Charenton then later rue Saint Nicolas.
