Large statue representing Vulcan. The back is hollow to be applied against a facade. Sculpture in two parts. Original terracotta painted in white. Unique piece. Average condition. The hammer is missing as well as part of the anvil. The terrace has been glued back together and restored. Despite this, there are still some gaps and traces of shocks. Height: 145cm. Provenance: attic of the castle of Jeurre, former property of Count Mollien, Minister of Finance under the First Empire. The castle of Jeurre is located in the town of Morigny-Champigny in Essonne.
