Rare pewter Begging Dish with a molded round edge, fitted with a centering socket on which rests a Virgin and Child.
Diameter: 27.3 cm. Height: 15 cm.
ROUSSILLON or LANGUEDOC, Second half of the 18th century or early 19th century


In patina and traces of gilding and silvering on the Virgin
This type of begging dish is characteristic of Roussillon or Languedoc productions. Several removable statuettes could be placed in turn in the center of the dish depending on the saint to be honored.
