Painter born on March 4, 1889 in Bordeaux and died on 11/16/62 in Paris. Passionate about drawing, he entered the Beaux Arts in Paris where he was a student of Jules Lefevre and François Flameng. He exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français from 1906 and obtained an honorable mention in 1908 and a gold medal in 1920. Second Grand Prix de Rome for painting in 1913. He created the famous poster for the first edition of the Cannes Film Festival in 1939. Curator of the Jacquemart-André Museum from 1955 to 1962. The Parisian woman is one of this painter's favorite subjects, he had as a model among others, Nadine de Rotchschild. Oil on panel signed lower left titled on the back "Le Bibi Rose" by the painter.
