Miniature of oval shape painted in gouache at the end of the 18th century. A young woman who could be Marie-Antoinette is represented in bust and face. Her elongated face with a serious expression gives nothing away. Her elaborate hairstyle with a powdered bun is decorated with pearls, pink ribbons and blue flowers; long ringlets fall over her shoulders. She is wearing a ruby-colored dress with a lace-trimmed neckline and decorated with a large bow. This miniature is in its Louis XVI frame in gilded brass topped with a bow. On the reverse, the cardboard covering the portrait is soiled. Good condition.
