Pablo Picasso Cannes, (1956)
Great photo of the Spanish master improvising a disguise as he liked, during a photo session in his villa, La Californie, on the heights of Cannes. Silver print from 1990 by André VILLERS (1930 – 2016), signed by the photographer lower right, dated and located on the back, 39 x 28.5 cm. André Villers (1930 – 2016) met Pablo Picasso in March 1953, the two men formed a deep friendship, the latter gave him his first Rolleiflex camera. Their collaboration gave rise to numerous portraits of Picasso, together they produced a collection of 30 photos under the title Diurnes accompanied by an original text by Jacques Prévert. André Villers will create numerous portraits of artists including Salvador Dali, Tapies, César, Fernand Léger, Jacques Prévert, Marc Chagall, Juan Miro, Jean Cocteau, Le Corbusier, Léo Ferré, Zao Wou Ki, etc…
