Very beautiful watercolor on paper measuring 31cm x 49cm plus frame 51cm x 67 signed and dated lower left PIGNON Sanary 1949 I report small rust stains on the paper which has slightly yellowed Edouard PIGNON born in 1905, died in 1993 A leading French artist, he had become friends with Picasso whom he never failed to visit during his visits to Sanary sur mer Painter, ceramist, theater sets, engraver. He exhibited for the first time in 1932, he will exhibit at Durand-Ruel with Lhote, Gromaire, Villo, Tanguy ....
