Gaston HAUCHECORNE born in Le Havre on September 10, 1880 and died in Paris on April 8, 1945. He was a professor and interpreter in Beijing and director of the consulate of Chongqing. He exhibited from the beginning of the 20s at the Salon des Artistes Français and participated in the national colonial exhibition of Marseille in 1922. The models are made in natural terracotta or bronze.
Hauchecorne is part of the group of progressive sculptor artists "La Stèle" founded by the art publisher Arthur Goldscheider. Their works will be exhibited in 1925 under the title Art Deco in a pavilion designed by Eric Bagge at the international exhibition of modern Decorative and Industrial Arts.
