Engraving around 1578 Copy of first state before the number probably first print without text on the back after Jan Van Der Straet called Johannes Stradanus or Stradan (1523-1605) Flemish painter and Philippe Galle (1537-1612) Flemish engraver signed "Ioes Stradanus inven et Phls Galle exceeds" inscribed in the margin "Veloces canibus ceruos per aperta fatigant" "Pasqua quos feriunt ferrati cuspide teli" from a series of 44 plates intended to illustrate the "Venationes Ferarum, Avium, Piscium" Hunting scene with hounds and on foot probably colored later engraving fixed on cardboard in the margins frame mid-20th century black lacquer engraving only approx. 34x26cm frame 45x34cm all questions welcome
