Very beautiful watercolor representing a lively landscape in the Orient. Interesting succession of shots first dark then very light, this creates a feeling of immersion inside the scene. In the foreground we can see heavy brick walls then an oriental gate leads the eye towards a white and particularly bright city. This view is animated by many characters whose clothes are very detailed. The technique used is mainly watercolor with touches of white gouache.
