Creation signed Eugène Lelièvre (1856-1945), Artist designer, draftsman, sculptor of Parisian decorative art having collaborated in particular with François Linke. An internationally renowned foundry, the Susse company began casting pieces in the first half of the 19th century. Having won several medals at the famous Expositions des Produits de l'Industrie in Paris, the Susse brothers, Victor (1806-1860) and Amédée (1808-1880), were known as early as 1841 as manufacturers of "art bronzes for clocks, candelabras, statuettes, etc." The greatest French sculptors entrusted their sculpted models to Susse for casting, such as James Pradier (1790-1852) who signed in 1841 the oldest known bronze publishing contract between publisher and artist. After the death of the two brothers, Albert Susse took over the business from 1880 to 1922. He developed the company until opening a new luxury boutique in Paris, at No. 13 boulevard de la Madeleine, one of the rare large foundries to have existed today. Signatures incised on Pendulum, Neo-classical Louis XVI style, conceptualized by Leliévre Sculptor. Fits harmoniously into any interior, bringing a touch of timeless elegance.
