The main band, between two pairs of corded threads, is decorated alternately with three small pearls and three rows of turquoises in a closed setting. The thimble bears the hallmark of the goldsmith Jules Lorillon (J and L on either side of a buffalo), inscribed on May 10, 1862 and crossed out on January 19, 1875 [Arminjeon 1994, n°02573 p.240] as well as the eagle's head hallmark (guarantee for gold in Paris, from 1838).
