Large mahogany dining table, 19th century. This 6-legged dining table called a headband is made of mahogany and mahogany veneer, very elegant and offering a beautiful width, it is extendable and once opened accommodates 2 mahogany extensions with headband, allowing to have a large table with a most pleasant visual. This French work dating from the Louis-Philippe period, around 1840 is a quality production, it is equipped with 6 solid mahogany umbrella-shaped legs resting on casters. The belt forming the headband is made of mahogany veneered beech highlighted with a solid mahogany astragal. The top is made of solid mahogany, it opens in its center, the sliding is ensured by beech slides with iron stiffener. The two extensions are made of softwood, veneered with mahogany, this mahogany veneer is old and blends perfectly with the rest of the top, the belts are also veneered with old mahogany with astragal in small covering in solid mahogany. Very good quality table, with wood, slides and casters of the period, the whole in very good condition, varnished wood clearly showing the qualities of the mahogany. The whole works very well.
