He moved to Paris in 1925 and taught at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts. From 1945, the French State bought a significant number of his works and made him appreciated by the general public. Until the early 1960s, Raymond Espinasse lived in Saint-Tropez, Hyères, Aix, Sète, Montpellier, where he painted themes that were dear to him: the sea, ports, dance, the nude... For a large part of his life he painted alongside his great friend François Desnoyer and exhibited with Jules Cavaillès, Henri Martin, Achille Laugé, Maurice Utrillo, Paul Signac...
