"Monstrance Reliquary With Four Relics - Circa 1800 "
Our reliquary monstrance is oval like a mandorla, the meeting point of the terrestrial and celestial spheres. It is decorated with embossed silver and gold metal. On its gadrooned base rests a stem. The upper part surrounded by a crown of flowers and glory surmounted by a bust of cherubs, houses in its center a montage of golden threads and pearls and holy relics. The whole is in honor of Saint Honorat, Saint Theodor, St. Francis Regis "the walker of God", and finally, Saint Eusebius.
The relics are positioned around a stylized wooden cross, reminding us that these Saints carried the Word of the Lord .... which indirectly they continue to do, by the presentation of their relics alone. A probably Austrian work from the end of the 18th or the very beginning of the 19th century.
Dimensions of 23 cm by 9.5 cm
Good condition despite a deformation of the foot.
